Welcome to Applied Motion PT! Solve your pain problem and get back to doing what you love
Get back out there! Get back into it! Pick it back up!
When back pain returns, shoulder pain persists, or knee pain prevents you from continuing forward, you don't feel like yourself or up to your own standards. You are of course not alone. Acute and chronic pain accounts for an enormous portion of activity loss in the US. Unlike many people in pain, you don't want to rely on meds or wait for 2 hours each visit at a doctor's office; you value your body and your time, and you want to return to the field, the garage, the beach, your happy place! Help me help you make the right decisions for your health and longevity. You don't have to commit, rather set up quick discovery visit to see if we're the right fit for each other either in-person or via video call.
Learn About Applied Motion PT
Applied Motion was born from a desire to make PT better, by taking decision-making away from insurance companies, and getting it back to where it belongs - between you and me. The mission is to provide you with personalized healthcare that supports you through your recovery, gives you the education you need to continue your care beyond your work at the AMPT gym, and prevents you from needing to return. We aim to improve wellness, quality of life, and overall longevity through exercise, nutrition, stress reduction, sleep hygiene, and proper water intake. AMPT provides PT for the active adult seeking improved quality of life through customized evidence and education-based care in a one-on-one setting. We are patient-first, and we think long-term.

What should I wear?
Wear athletic clothing that allows visibility of the injured site. Jeans are unadvised, and there is a changing room available. Please note that no shoes are allowed in the space, so do wear socks.
We take Medicare always. For anyone else, ask your insurance company if you have out of network benefits. Keep in mind, we are the only one-on-one, customizable PT gym in the area.
The gym space itself is not accessible; however, I do perform house calls twice a week, if you are unable to leave your home. Let me know if you need me to come to your home--pricing is the same.
Is there a minimum number of visits?
Physical therapy is progress-based. During your evaluation, we will determine how many visits are appropriate for you, and there is no minimum or maximum number of visits.
Dr. Arianne Cohen PT, DPT, CSCS
Physical Therapist, Owner
Hi, I'm Dr. Arianne Cohen PT, DPT, CSCS. I've worked my way through 4 of the NYC boroughs, and finally landed in New Rochelle. After undergrad at Cornell and graduate school at NYU, I can now call myself an autodidact and choose to consume all the info on health, wellness, and business that I can. After working for multiple big-brand chains, and boutique clinics, I realized “I can do this too!” And in 2021, I remodeled an extra room in my house, called up family, friends, and former patients, and Applied Motion PT was born. I strive to treat everyone who walks through the door like a VIP, and to help you reach your goals the same way I fight to reach mine. That’s why I love my job so much!
I originally started PT with a different clinic, and while they were good, eventually I stopped progressing. Now that I've switched, I'm motivated to work as hard as I can each session with Dr. Cohen in order to improve how I walk, move, and balance. Over the course of a few months, I've gone from walking painfully with a walker to taking more than a few clean steps all on my own, and it feels like such significant progress.
Ari is superior. She is a great listener. At a time when confidence is low and pain is high she got my mother to focus on attainable and realistic weekly goals. The pandemic and the New England winter had diminished my 95 year old mother's ability to walk more than 100 yards. Her poor balance and non confident gait (tiny , hesitant steps) were collapsing the world around her. After working with Ari for the past few months she has mastered trekking poles and walking up to a half mile a day. She is walking the feilds in Vermont with with renewed confidence. Most importantly, she invites all her grandchildren to join her on her daily perimeter walks and challenges them to keep up with her if they can. That is a priceless outcome of Ari's work.
